Almost Grasped, But Not Quite

 
Because
Ryan won’t stop bothering (actually more of insistently demanding) us
about the awards he garnered on our Sagada adventure (and thereafter), we officially declare that he’s our 2006 KILABOT NG MGA AWARDS awardee.
*clap*clap*clap* Dahil hinakot mo ang lahat ng awards na hindi
nageexist before at pati mga awards na may nagmamayari na. Asteeeg!
Haha! That includes these minor awards:

MACHO MACHO MAN OF THE YEAR
 
 

For
inspiring us all to perform at the highest level (ever) on our next
performances (para makaganti), for teaching us how to reach the high
and low notes (para ma-reach ang level nya), for suggesting that we
enroll on the conservatory you went to (para mawala lalo sa tono), at
sa pagkabog mo kina Anj at Kel sa videoke with your now infamous song,
"Lemon Tree" thus garnering the highest score of 95, saludo kami
sa’yo… pero babawi yung dalawa next time. Dahil din dito ay baka ikaw na ang susunod na kuhaning Ming’s Pei Pa Koa endorser at image model.

NOSE BLEED AWARD
Isa itong
honorary award na ipinagkakaloob sa mga taong may lakas ng loob na
umaming hindi na nya nagegets ang usapan. Sa susunod, bibigyan ka na
namin ng oras para mag-load at mag-assess ng mga impormasyong aming
tinatalakay. Sigaw ka lang ulet ng "Nose bleed!" pag sumosobra na kami
sa aming kadaldalan. Bibigyan ka namin ng tissue.

KA-LEVEL NI CANDICE AWARD
 
Hindi namin akalaing may katulad pa pala si Candice sa mundong ito.
Akala namin before eh si Paolo na ‘yon, but then you came along.. Unbelievable
talaga kaya naman malugod naming ibinibigay ang award na ito sa iyo.
Isang malaking karangalan ang maging ka-level ni Candice kaya naman
maging masaya ka dahil ang wave length n’yo ay swak na swak
. Buo na ngayon ang Bangag Tandem! At dahil dyan, kayo na lang ang mag-usap next time. <<Side comment ni Candice: Excuse me…medyo angat sya sakin…runner-up na lang ako..>>

LAMON KING
Ang nasabing award ay kay Kel
lamang ngunit dahil napantayan mo (at nahigitan mo pa nga yata) ang
kanyang appetite, sa’yo na rin ang award na ito. At dahil mahilig kang
maki-share, maki-share ka na rin sa award na ito. (Simotero award din itong masasabi…as in on the prowl sa pagkaing di na maubos ng mga kasama nya.)  Paalala: Baka hindi
ka na nga magkasya sa maliit na lagusan sa loob ng kuweba next time.

JOE D’ MANGO AWARD
Hindi namin alam na may kakaibang
ibig sabihin pala ang mga tuldok at smileys sa text na patungkol sa
pag-ibig. Kaya naman kung gusto n’yong mawindang ang inyong lovelife,
dito kayo sa aming resident love counselor tumakbo. Makulay at commendable ang track record niya. Sya ang mentor nina Candice at Kel kaya naman… wala pa ring lovelife ang dalawa.

SUMASABLAY AWARD
Alam
mo yung feeling na akala mo ang galing mong magkuwento kasi lahat ng
kausap mo nakikinig at mukhang interesado tapos pagkatapos nilang
tumawa sa sinabi mo, may isang taong magtatanong ng "ano raw?!" Yan si
Ryan… kung minsan, sumasablay sa paggets ng mga bagay-bagay pero
narerecover naman nya ang kanyang dignidad sa pamamagitan ng pagsasabi
rin ng punchline (na para sa kanya ay seryoso pala). Kaya naman kung
minsan, parang kaming lahat ang sablay imbes na sya. (Oo, nakakahiya
kami.)

BLOOPER KING II
(Dabah, parang fast-food chain!)
Second
lamang dahil ang original Blooper King ay si Ramil sa unang Sagada
Adventure. Nagpatalbugan ang dalawa sa kanilang blooper moments. Sa
sobrang dami, nawala na kami sa bilang kaya naman hindi na namin
malaman kung sino sa kanila ang mas magaling magpatawa. Anyway, masaya
kasama si Ryan dahil sa kanyang multiple bloopers (actually,
hundreds… nah, thousands!). Walang moment na pinapalagpas para
magpakitang gilas ang taong ito. (Never a dull moment, good for us dahil tuloy tuloy ang saya!). Syempre, celebrity eh.

Yes, hinakot nya ang lahat ng awards sa aming adventure. (Oh, yes! Nag-over heat dahil sa pag-oovertime ang nag-iisa naming imaginary spotlight.)
  Marami pa ang mga awards na yan at we’re sure na igigiit nyang
malaman ang iba pa pero sa ngayon, yan na muna. At dahil nga isa na
siyang certified celebrity, isa na rin syang certified SEASONer at
Coffee Nighter. Naks!  

Masanay ka na sa aming pagsira sa iyong buhay. Hobby iyon na matutunan mo rin sa mga susunod na araw
  (at tiyak na kakailanganin mo sa buhay na ito). You’ll be an expert in no time at all.

Sa haba-haba ng sinabi ko, ang bottomline nyan, "Kelan ang susunod na coffee night?!" Hahaha. (Actually depende yan sa fast-paced kuwento naman ng buhay ni
Candice… So sa kanya ka lagi magtatanong ng schedules ha. Abangan!)

One Poignant Moment.

Sometimes, when the unthinkable, insensible, unexpected happens to a friend, you become more discerning but numb. Somehow, though you understand the circumstances, there are reactions you don’t want to show but you can’t help but feel and manifest. There are lessons to be learned in a sudden change of a person’s status.

Friend, when I can’t seem to exude the happiness and excitement other people are showing, it doesn’t mean I’ll forever be this way.

Regardless of what you just shared with me, you will always be beautiful in my eyes. I’m wishing you the best. I’ll just be here for you.

One More Time.

I guess Sagada will always hold a very special place in our hearts. No matter how far and tiring the journey to Mountain Province is, it’s always a pleasure to travel that far. It’s so worth it!

While I’m still confused on what to highlight on my holiday season escapades,  here’s a toast to all my lovely loved ones.

You know how hard it is for me to set aside my bitchiness. That’s something innate na yata. But bitchiness and sarcasm aside, I’d like all of you to know how grateful I am for letting me be part of your lives for the past years. Sana you’ll still bear with me this 2007. And beyond na rin.

I so thank the Lord for blessing me with all the good things in life. I thank Him for all of you.
